Currently we offer deer hunting weekends in the fall, a turkey hunt and a fishing weekend in the spring and a family retreat in the summer.

How are guests selected?

Everyone must apply using the application on hunt2heal.org or a paper copy can be mailed as well. Deadlines apply. Refer to H2H website for most current deadlines. Unfortunately, not everyone that applies will be granted a hunt/fish/stay due to limited availability.

What is the criteria for applying?

Applicants must be physically disabled and demonstrate a need for the resources to be able to get outdoors.

How big is the property?

The Hunt 2 Heal property is 640 private acres, a square mile.

Is the property fenced in?

No, the land is not fenced in and borders the Manistee National Forest on 2 sides giving us a quiet and peaceful woods to hunt.

Where are you located?

The Hunt 2 Heal headquarters are located at 3714 28th Street SW, Grandville, MI 49418.

The Lodge is located at 2402 W. 15 Mile Rd, Bitely, MI 49309

How accessible is the lodge?

The lodge was designed for people in wheelchairs. There is ample space to wheel around anywhere you’d like to go. Each guestroom also has a spacious bathroom with roll-in showers, Raz shower chairs. We also have a hospital bed, hoyer lifts, transfer boards and more if needed.  Each room is also appointed with a mini-fridge and separate sink area from the bathroom.

What does a weekend consist of?

It varies based on the type of weekend, but for example for a hunt, guests will arrive on Friday evening. Hunting will start Saturday morning. Hunters can choose to go out again on Saturday evening and Sunday morning if an animal was not harvested prior.

How much does it cost to participate?

All of our event weekends are provided at no cost to our guests. It is our goal to remove ALL barriers to the outdoors and outdoor activities and one of those can be cost. We fund our events through a number of fundraising initiatives. Donations and participation in fundraising events are greatly appreciated.

Do hunters need to have previous hunting experience?

No. Our guides will provide all the basic instruction. While not required, a hunters safety course is a great way to get familiar with the sport.

Will hunters have a guide? What support will be provided throughout the weekend?

Each hunter will be provided with a Hunt 2 Heal Volunteer Hunting Guide. A lodge host will coordinate meals and activities and each hunter is allowed to bring a guest or caregiver.

Can hunters bring someone with them?

Yes. Hunters can bring a caregiver and/or a significant other, guardian or friend and family. Our guest suites can accommodate up to 4 people with 2 queen beds per room.
